Southwest (Bryant, AR) Captures Lead Early To Defeat Pacific Southwest (Tri-Valley, CA)
Pacific Southwest watched the game slip away early and couldn’t recover in a 2-1 loss to Southwest on Saturday. Southwest took the lead on a single in the second inning.
The pitching was strong on both sides. Southwest pitchers struck out six, while Pacific Southwest sat down six.
Southwest fired up the offense in the second inning. Southwest scored one run when Eli Berry singled.
Avery Heidelberg led things off on the pitcher’s mound for Southwest. The fireballer lasted six innings, allowing six hits and one run while striking out five.
Nolan Jess led things off on the hill for Pacific Southwest. The pitcher allowed five hits and one run over four innings, striking out three. Gavin Colombo threw three innings in relief out of the bullpen.
Pacific Southwest scattered seven hits in the game. Joshua Werner and Isaac Marrs each had multiple hits for Pacific Southwest. Marrs and Werner each managed two hits to lead Pacific Southwest.
EJ Keith led Southwest with two hits in four at bats. Southwest didn’t commit a single error in the field. Hudson Thomason had eight chances in the field, the most on the team.
