Eli Of Southwest (Bryant, AR) Shuts Out Midwest Plains (Rapid City, SD)

Eli Berry didn’t allow a single run as Southwest defeated Midwest Plains 11-0 on Monday. Berry allowed just four hits.

Southwest opened up scoring in the first inning, when Avery Heidelberg homered on a 0-1 count, scoring three runs.

Southwest tallied five runs in the second inning. Southwest’s big bats in the inning were led by singles by Braxton Speer and EJ Keith and by JT Allen.

A single by Luke Hanzlik in the first inning was a positive for Midwest Plains.

Berry got the start for Southwest. The pitcher surrendered zero runs on four hits over five innings, striking out five.

Ian Beer led things off on the hill for Midwest Plains. The hurler surrendered 11 runs on 11 hits over four innings, striking out one.

Southwest smacked one home run on the day. Heidelberg went deep in the first inning.

Southwest tallied 11 hits in the game. Hudson Thomason, Landon Jackson, and Allen all collected multiple hits for Southwest. Allen, Jackson, and Thomason each managed two hits to lead Southwest.
