Ottumwa IA Takes Victory Over New England

Ottumwa IA defeated New England 9-5 on Sunday.

Ottumwa IA notched five runs in the fourth inning. Ottumwa IA’s big inning was driven by singles by Tucker Long and Nolan Heller and a double by Tatem Telfer.

Landon Boney was the winning pitcher for Ottumwa IA. The bulldog allowed four hits and two runs over four and a third innings, striking out three and walking zero. Long and Matthew Mitchell entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief. Long recorded the last six outs to earn the save for Ottumwa IA.

Zakariya Whitney took the loss for New England. Whitney went three innings, allowing four runs on three hits and striking out five.

Ottumwa IA tallied ten hits on the day. Telfer, Heller, and Dylan Forney all managed multiple hits for Ottumwa IA. Forney, Heller, and Telfer each collected two hits to lead Ottumwa IA.

Whitney went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead New England in hits.
