Two Southeast Pitchers Team Up In Shutout Victory Against Midwest Plains

Southeast defeated Midwest Plains 10-0 on Saturday as two pitchers combined to throw a shutout. Walker Sparkman struck out Tyler Henstein to finish off the game.

Southeast scored four runs in the third inning. Austin Kobetitsch, Caleb Thomas, and Tyler Anderson all contributed in the big inning with RBIs.

One bright spot for Midwest Plains was a single by Colten Morlang in the sixth inning.

Thomas led things off on the pitcher’s mound for Southeast. The pitcher went five innings, allowing zero runs on zero hits, striking out five and walking one.

Jackson Dial started the game for Midwest Plains. The pitcher lasted four and two-thirds innings, allowing 11 hits and nine runs while striking out two. Henstein threw two-thirds of an inning out of the bullpen.

Southeast tallied 12 hits. Neal Porter, Ezekiel Podgorski, and Anderson all managed multiple hits for Southeast. Porter led Southeast with three hits in four at bats. Southeast didn’t commit a single error in the field. Noah Miller had the most chances in the field with six.

Morlang went 1-for-2 at the plate to lead Midwest Plains in hits.
