Midwest Plains’s (Rapid City, SD) Strong Offense Falls Just Short To Pacific Northwest (Sandy, OR)
Midwest Plains’s bats were strong against Pacific Northwest on Tuesday, but it wasn’t enough as Midwest Plains fell 9-6.
Midwest Plains tallied four runs in the seventh inning. Midwest Plains’s offense in the inning came from walks by Brody Thompson and Blake Olmsted, by Jackson Dial, and an error on a ball put in play by Luke Hanzlik.
Pacific Northwest scored four runs in the sixth inning. The big inning for Pacific Northwest came thanks to doubles by Max Green and Matthew Kosderka.
Fisher Winchester took the win for Pacific Northwest. The pitcher went six and a third innings, allowing three runs on three hits and striking out eight. Johnathin Silvis and Brayden Sievertsen entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief. Silvis recorded the last out to earn the save for Pacific Northwest.
Dial took the loss for Midwest Plains. The hurler went five innings, allowing three runs on four hits and striking out two.
Mason Brooks went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead Midwest Plains in hits.
Pacific Northwest totaled ten hits. Sievertsen and Green each had multiple hits for Pacific Northwest.
