Pacific Southwest (Tri-Valley, CA) Clinches Lead In Fifth Inning To Defeat Pacific Northwestt (Sandy, OR)
Pacific Southwest stole the lead late and defeated Pacific Northwest 10-6 on Monday. The game was tied at four with Pacific Southwest batting in the bottom of the fifth when Gavin Colombo‘s sac fly scored one run for Pacific Southwest.
Pacific Northwest scored four runs in the fourth inning, but Pacific Southwest still managed to pull out the victory. The big inning for Pacific Northwest came thanks to a single by Brayden Sievertsen and by Cooper Hibbs.
Julian Cambra was credited with the victory for Pacific Southwest. The ace lasted three and a third innings, allowing three hits and two runs while striking out seven. Matteo Massagli threw one-third of an inning in relief out of the bullpen.
Pacific Southwest tallied 13 hits on the day. Giffins, Edwards, Cambra, and Velasquez each racked up multiple hits for Pacific Southwest. Giffins went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead Pacific Southwest in hits. Pacific Southwest didn’t commit a single error in the field. Wallace had 13 chances in the field, the most on the team.
