Ohio Valley’s Early Lead Over MWP RU Sets Stage For Victory
An early lead helped Ohio Valley defeat MWP RU 4-3 on Tuesday. Ohio Valley scored on a double by Hunter Sandberg and a single by Aaron Gust in the second inning.
Jake Bjerke got the win for Ohio Valley. The fireballer surrendered three runs on four hits over five innings, striking out five. Caleb Moss threw two innings in relief out of the bullpen. Moss recorded the last six outs to earn the save for Ohio Valley.
Thomas Ahneman took the loss for MWP RU. The bulldog went five innings, allowing four runs on three hits and striking out four.
Sandberg went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead Ohio Valley in hits.
Evan Krogen led MWP RU with two hits in two at bats.
